How to Use the Job Tracker
From your first saved job posting to a full application pipeline — add, update, and follow up, all stored privately in your own browser.
Everything above runs entirely in your browser using its built-in local storage. Nothing you enter — companies, notes, job descriptions — is ever uploaded to a server, and there's no account to create.
Job Tracker: Organize Every Job Application, Free, Right in Your Browser
Quick answer: Add each job you apply to with its status, dates and notes, and this tool keeps a running dashboard of your whole search, free, with no signup and no server ever seeing your data. Pro Mode, currently free, adds a drag-and-drop Kanban board, a calendar of interviews and follow-ups, real response/interview/offer-rate analytics, and CSV/JSON export.
A job application tracker only earns its keep if it's faster to update than a spreadsheet and more honest than your memory. This one is built to be both: a free job tracker that lives entirely in your browser, with a fixed six-stage pipeline, Saved, Applied, Screening, Interview, Offer, Rejected, so every application has a clear, comparable state instead of a pile of loose notes. There's no account to create and nothing to install; you open the page and start adding roles.
It's deliberately a personal productivity tool rather than a recruiting platform. It doesn't scrape job boards, auto-apply anywhere, or share your data with anyone, that's a different category of product entirely. What it does is give you one private place to log every company you're pursuing, see where each one stands at a glance, and get nudged when a follow-up is due.
1How This Job Tracker Works
Each application you add carries a company, position, dates, status, and any notes, contact, or salary details you want to keep. Behind the status field, the tool quietly tracks the highest stage every application ever reached, so if something gets rejected after an interview, your analytics still correctly count it as having reached the interview stage, rather than losing that history the moment the status changes to Rejected. Everything is written to your browser's local storage the instant you save it, and read back the same way when you reopen the page, there's no loading screen waiting on a server because there is no server involved.

Basic Mode is enough for a focused, short job search, log applications, move them through the pipeline, and glance at the dashboard. Pro Mode, currently free to use, is built for a longer or more active search: unlimited room to grow, a board you can manage visually, a calendar so nothing slips, and real numbers on how your search is actually performing.
3Response, Interview & Offer Rate: What They Actually Measure
These three numbers are calculated only from applications you've actually submitted, anything still marked "Saved" is excluded, since you haven't applied yet and there's nothing to measure a response against. Response Rate is the share of those applications that moved past sitting at "Applied" with no reply: reaching Screening or beyond counts, and so does an outright Rejected, since a rejection is itself a response. Interview Rate is the share that ever reached the Interview stage, and Offer Rate the share that ever reached Offer, and both keep counting even if the application was later marked Rejected, a rejection after your third-round interview still counts toward your Interview Rate, because it genuinely happened. This is a documented, fixed formula rather than a vague "success score," so the same data always produces the same percentages.
4Common Reasons People Use a Free Job Tracker
None of these need a recruiter's dashboard or a subscription, they're the ordinary reasons someone wants their own job search organized somewhere they control, rather than scattered across email threads and browser tabs.
5Kanban Board, Calendar, and Keeping Data Safe
The Kanban board lays out all six stages as columns so you can drag an application forward the moment something changes, on a touch screen the board scrolls sideways and every card also carries a plain dropdown, so changing status never depends on a fiddly drag gesture. The calendar view plots every interview and follow-up date on a simple month grid, click a day to see exactly what's scheduled. Because none of this touches a server, it's worth being deliberate about backups: use Export CSV when you want your applications in a spreadsheet, and Export JSON Backup before clearing your browser or moving to a new device, then Import JSON Backup to restore everything exactly as it was, both properly escape commas, quotes and line breaks in company names or notes, so the files stay valid no matter what you've typed.
Every company, note, and job description you enter is written directly to your own browser's local storage using JavaScript running on your device. Nothing is uploaded, synced, or transmitted to a server at any point, in Basic Mode or Pro Mode. That also means this data has no cloud backup by default and won't follow you to another browser or device unless you export a JSON backup yourself.
