GPA Predictor — See Your Final GPA Before It Happens
Most students only discover their final GPA after the last grade has posted — by which point there is nothing left to adjust. A GPA predictor flips that around: by combining your current standing with a realistic expectation for the work still ahead, you can see your likely final GPA today, while there is still time to act on what you learn. Our free GPA predictor calculates this instantly using a credit-weighted formula, then generates a fun, colourful, downloadable result card you can save or send to friends — turning a maths calculation into something genuinely shareable.
Simple Mode covers the full core prediction: enter your current GPA, credits completed, remaining credits and an expected GPA for what's left, and get an instant forecast with a tier badge. Switch to Pro Mode (free) for a live what-if slider, three-scenario comparison (struggle / expected / excel), a full multi-semester forecast builder, and CSV export.
Why this is more useful than a simple GPA calculator: A standard GPA calculator only tells you where you stand right now. A predictor tells you where you're heading — answering the actual question students care about: "If I keep performing the way I expect to, what will my degree look like at the end?" That forward-looking framing turns an abstract number into a planning tool you can act on this semester, not just a retrospective report card.
The Prediction Formula
This is the same weighted-average logic universities use to calculate cumulative GPA across multiple semesters — your existing academic record and your projected remaining performance are blended in proportion to how many credits each represents. The more credits you've already completed, the more your current GPA anchors the prediction; the more credits remain, the more your future performance can shift the outcome.

Result Tiers — What Your Predicted GPA Means
On a 4.0 scale, Elite Scholar territory begins around 3.5+, Strong Performer around 3.2-3.5, and Solid Student around 2.8-3.2 — though our calculator scales these tiers proportionally for the 5.0 and 10.0 scales too.

GPA prediction, formulas and how this tool works
Using a credit-weighted average: Predicted GPA = (Current GPA × Credits Done + Expected GPA × Remaining Credits) ÷ Total Credits. Example: 3.4 GPA across 60 credits, expecting 3.7 across 30 remaining credits gives ((3.4×60)+(3.7×30))÷90 = 3.50.
The maths is exact — it's a weighted average. The only uncertainty is your estimate of future performance. Use it for scenario planning (best case, expected, worst case) rather than as a guaranteed exact forecast.
Yes — that's the entire point. Enter your current GPA, credits completed, remaining credits and an expected GPA to see your likely final result before graduation, while there's still time to adjust your effort or course selection.
Rearrange the formula: Required GPA = (Target × Total Credits − Current × Credits Done) ÷ Remaining Credits. If the result exceeds your scale's maximum (e.g. above 4.0), the target isn't achievable with the credits remaining.
Because of credit weighting. With 90 credits already at 3.0 and only 10 remaining, even a perfect 4.0 in those 10 only moves your final GPA to about 3.1 — the completed credits carry far more weight. Remaining performance matters most earlier in a degree, less so near the end.
On a 4.0 scale, 3.5+ is strong and competitive for graduate school. 3.7-4.0 typically qualifies for Latin honours. 3.0-3.49 meets most graduate programme minimums. Standards vary by institution, country and field.
